Replying to question in BBC programme, "Talking Point" broadcast live, the Prime Minister said the government had also made extensive arrangements so that every affected person is provided winterised tent to protect them from harsh winters.
The Prime Minister said due to scattered population, and despite problems, there will be no problem of food. He said supply of tents has been increased and out of 30,000 tents from Saudi Arabia, 10,000 have reached Pakistan.
He said co-ordination for relief goods distribution has been improved. The Prime Minister said entire world extended help to Pakistan in its relief and rehabilitation but said there was a long way to go to provide help to those affected due to October 8 earthquake.
To a question, he said the government announced the number of death after proper verification. According to latest figure about 73,000 people have been died in the earthquake, he added.
He said the US has allocated $150 million for relief operation for affected areas in Pakistan and hoped it will increase. It includes food, tents, and helicopters. American engineers are working in Neelam valley and airlifting heavy machinery to affected areas.
American and Pakistani people have collected relief goods, which are being sent to Pakistan. Five heads of big companies are also collecting funds from corporate sector. The Prime Minister said Pakistan will present sponsorship programme in the November 19 conference so that any one could sponsor families.
He said the United States has set up field hospitals and 32 such hospitals are working in affected areas. The Prime Minister said the government is taking special measures for special persons. Many have lost their limbs in this earthquake and many such are in the hospitals.
He said the government is opening three centres in Muzaffarabad, Islamabad and NWFP to provide artificial limbs and appealed to the world for artificial limbs.
The Prime Minister said the government also asking for wheelchairs and arranging 'trauma centres'.
He said the government is also changing building codes to avoid such loss in future. Referring to relief operation, the Prime Minister said it was a big test and challenge for the government.
He said helicopters have been reaching to all affected areas and added injured are being evacuated by helicopters and Rs25,000 package programme has also been started in Neelam valley and its disbursement is being expedited.
The Prime Minister said it is a very difficult area, roads have been damaged and mules are being used for providing relief goods.
